Counselling for Anxiety

We all feel anxious at some point in our life. It is normal for us to feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam, having a medical test, job interview, buying a house etc.

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry that can be mild or severe. Anxiety is often thought of as fear. They are slightly different psychologically but counselling is known to effective help people to manage both anxiety and fear.

Some symptoms of anxiety or fear can be:
  • avoiding situations or object
  • catastrophising  (end of the world)
  • feeling of panic
  • loss of appetite
  • interrupted sleep pattern
  • irritable bowels

Counselling offers you the chance to talk about your anxiety or fear. Talking it though can give you a chance to explore your anxiety. You can look at the cause of your anxiety and explore strategies for how you can manage or overcome the issue.
